Scenarios

Gemfire contains four scenarios, each with four playable families:

  1. Erin and Ander:  "Six noble families have undertaken the task to overthrow King Eselred and secure Gemfire.  Erin of Blanche and Ander of Lyle are the main contenders, yet only one family is destined to secure the crown!"
  2. Flax's Shame:  "Prince Erik of Flax is cornered in the Southwest after defeating the Coryll Family.  Now Flax feels threatened by the presence of Terian, the Prince who deserted the King."
  3. Terian's War:  "Terian overthrew the Molbrew Family and is positioned in the West.  His rivals Erin and Ander each possess two gems of the crown, but magic is not the only way to capture Gemfire..."
  4. Gemfire:  "The Lankshire Family bribed Pender to desert his own brother, Erin.  They hope to ally with Eadric, long lost son of Eselred, and gain his land in the South.  One ruler must stop the warring and reunite Gemfire!"

Scenario 1, Blanche
    Zendor:  "I will conjure up lightning to protect Prince Erin's land."
    Karl:  "With Zendor's help, we will capture the deadly Fire Dragon!"
    Anselm:  "I'll not rest while our neighbors are our enemies!"

Scenario 1, Lyle
    Pluvius:  "I will defend Prince Ander from Eselred's wrath!"
    Seth:  "Pluvius, the Supreme Sorcerer, will lead us to victory!"
    Wolfen:  "Ally with Erin so we may wield the powers of two gems!"

Scenario 1, Coryll
    Empyron:  "With the magic of my crystal I will save Prince Lars."
    Eustace:  "Empyron has joined us, but our future is still uncertain..."
    Erven:  "We are in great danger of the Dragon and the volcano!"

Scenario 1, Chrysalis
    Chylla:  "By the powers of ice crystals I will save Gemfire from evil!"
    Sarthe:  "Now is our chance!  We must rise up and challenge the King!"
    Elgis:  "First we must defeat our greatest enemy, Prince Ander!"

Scenario 2, Blanche
    Zendor:  "I am loyal to the crown and devoted to reuniting the gems!"
    Anselm:  "If we ally with Prince Terian, two gems will be united!"
    Karl:  "With the help of other rulers we will succeed peacefully."

Scenario 2, Lyle
    Wolfen:  "Taking Cobrige away from Erin was only the beginning."
    Randal1:  "Prince Garth is dead and Lisle is now ours for the taking!"
    Keyla:  "I am skilled with my sword and will protect Lyle from harm."

Scenario 2, Flax
    Scylla:  "With a wave of my wand I will send enemy troops flying!"
    Jerras:  "Send me to attack Linden.  I will secure it for Flax!"
    Esok:  "With the King's army so close, we must prepare our defense!"

Scenario 2, Molbrew
    Skulryk:  "Coryll is in ruins and Empyron is under Terian's command!"
    Fuster:  "Now Terian rules his own land.  We must watch him closely."
    Erven:  "I have heard that Empyron's gem is with Eustace..."

Scenario 3, Blanche
    Skulryk:  "Now that Molbrew is in ruins I give my power to Blanche."
    Arkin:  "Anselm died when Ander betrayed our alliance!"
    Karl:  "We will reap revenge from the Lyle Family for this wrong!"

Scenario 3, Lyle
    Pluvius:  "Chylla, Chrysallis is in ruins.  Will you assist me in Lyle?"
    Chylla:  "Yes.  We must bring an end to the strife in Ishmeria."
    Seth:  "Time is running out.  I will start training my troops for war."

Scenario 3, Tate
    Bryan:  "The Wizard of Fire will save us from destruction!"
    Empyron:  "It is my duty to help Prince Terian secure the crown."
    Gerard:  "Justice is ours!  We will emerge from the West!"

Scenario 3, Tordin
    Erven:  "We have neither the fame nor magic to capture Gemfire."
    Alex:  "But while our rivals fight, we shall build a great army!"

Scenario 4, Blanche
    Skulryk:  "We've lost Pender!  He went over to Eselred's army!"
    Zendor:  "Even without him we must be determined to unite the crown!"
    Geran:  "But first I want revenge on Divas for Arkin's death!"

Scenario 4, Lyle
    Pluvius:  "We are destined to clash with Erin before King Eselred."
    Chylla:  "They have long been Prince Ander's greatest foes."
    Adryl:  "I am the son of Eselred yet my faith is in Prince Ander."

Scenario 4, Tudoria
    Scylla:  "From this day I will wield my powers for Prince Eadric."
    Kelvin:  "As son of Eselred, Eadric is rightful heir of the crown2!"
    Bradley:  "I have followed him to the South to pledge my service."

Scenario 4, Divas
    Elias:  "Eadric in Ashlan is rumored3 to be Eselred's lost son!"
    Raith:  "That rumor is a sign that we have new rivals in the South."
    Melgan:  "But our greatest rival, the King, is weakening!"


1. Note that while Randal's commentary is found here, he doesn't appear until scenario 3.

2. Um.  If this is the case, wouldn't that make Adryl the rightful heir to the throne, being Eselred's oldest son?  Eadric is nine years younger than Adryl.

3. This would also make Adryl's claim to the throne stronger than Eadric's.  About the only reason Adryl couldn't just step forward and be king right now is because he decided to side with Ander instead.
